Gov't Spending - Arkansas Gazette - November 28, 1837

The opposition make it a charge against the administration, that they have expended money in the Florida War.  What would these cold blooded men have!  Would they have left the whites to have been butchered by the Indians?  It is thus the ruin party ever exult at the misfortunes of their country.  Their great leader, Mr. Webster, in 1814, described the butcheries and disasters on the frontiers, and sneeringly exclaimed, "this is not the entertainment we were invited to." (Bos. Adv.)
