David B. Rollin had worked for several years at
Tonawanda, New York, before entering the missionary field in the West
for the American Baptist Missionary Board. In 1834 he became
missionary to the Creeks in Indian Territory and worked there until he
was expelled in September 1836. In November of that year, he joined
the Shawnee Mission in Kansas, but was compelled to quit mission work
in October 1838 because of poor health. He died at Commerce,
Michigan, on May 12, 1839.
