Arkansas Troops in the Second Seminole War

According to Roy Robinson, Box 31, Westfork, Arkansas (letter dated December 31, 1962) a company of volunteers was raised at Clarksville, Arkansas about 1837 to serve in the Second Seminole War. This company served in the Fort Gibson area. Among the members of the company were brother, William Robinson; and their father, William Robinson, Sr. The latter was a veteran of the Creek War and the Battle of Horseshoe Bend. The younger William Robinson was either killed in the service or disappeared soon after discharge. Murray Campbell was another soldier from the Fayetteville area who served in the Clarksville company.
