Boney Enters Trail of Tears Art Show

Roy Boney, Jr., a member of the Sequoyah Research Center research team, has placed two works in the annual Trail of Tears Art Show sponsored by the Cherokee Nation Heritage Center at Park Hill, Oklahoma.

The prestigious show, now in its thirty-fifth year, attracts artists, visitors, and buyers from all over the nation.

Boney combines wit and artistic talent in his two entries—a painting titled “Cherokee Nation vs. Georgia” and a pen-and-ink drawing titled “Our Father.”

Boney, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, is a graduate student in the UALR Art Department and holds the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Fellowship in the Sequoyah Research Center.

The Trail of Tears Art Show runs from April 29 to May 28.  For more information about it, visit http://www.cherokeeheritage.org.
